Passed the air-brake test, pre-trip test, skills test, and road test today at the lovely California DMV. I now have my CDL A with Hazmat, double/triple, and tanker endorsements. Now the hard part comes, finding a job with a company that will hire a newbie. I still have A LOT to learn, but I am enjoying the journey so far.

I want to also say this forum has been great with all the posts, information, and helpful advice!!! Thanks to everyone who is willing to share their experience and advice!!!

Take care, and hope to see you all on the road some day!!!

    Congratulations
Now take your time finding a job. Find one that fits your needs as far as home time and pay. Don't jump on the first wagon . Pick a company the you can stand working for at less a year to get your experience .No one likes a job hopper.....Good luck and be safe

congrats! great feeling, ain't it? I don't know why, but for some reason, passing that CDL test causes strong urges to do cartwheels. Even things I've done that were more difficult and took much longer to accomplish didn't give me that victory feeling like passing that CDL test did!

Congrats man! Job well done! Yep, now you just have to find a company to drive for. Make sure you don't wait too long though. Most companies only allow you a few weeks after school or they will make you take a refresher course. Also its in your best interest to get to orientation as soon as possible because you will have to take a driving test and you want your newly acquired skills to be fresh in your mind.

Shouldn't be too hard though to find a good gig out there. Plenty of them. Maybe check Craigslist. I always see good gigs posted on there.

    Good luck man...
