I had a drive tire that was absolutely getting shredded. Got an alignment done but it kept getting worse. A few days later ran over a bolt and had to buy a new tire, so bought 2 so they would ride together with same tread depth, then moved the good used on up with the other good used one. I mentioned that when I had the brakes done the guy putting the wheels back on just hammered the first lug nut on full blast then moved in a circle with the rest of the lug nuts ie, not using the star pattern for tightening. T/A says they use star pattern. Also had Centramatics put on all around and no more tires shredding up. I believe it was a balance problem and not using the star pattern throws it off even a couple millimeters would cause strange wear on the tires. Since the Centramatics the truck runs true down the road not like before when if I took my hands off the wheel momentarily it would aim for the ditch.
