Either Crete spoke to someone higher up on the DOT food chain with more knowledge, or there is a pilot program that Crete / Shaffer / Hunt is involved in, because leaving a receiver while on line 5 with an empty trailer and traveling to a safe place to park and rest is not just allowed, it's official company policy that you can do so.

I have extreme doubts that Crete would have a company policy to do something illegal. That leads to insane lawsuits.

My company's policy is to call dispatch when I have 3 hours left on my 14. They will call the shipper / receiver. If I'm in the door, I'll either be loaded / unloaded and rolling within an hour. If I'm not yet in the door, I'll either be loaded / unloaded and rolling within an hour, or leaving the facility within 10 minutes of the call. If I'm in the door and partially loaded / unloaded with one hour left on my 14, I'll be told to drop the trailer in the door and bobtail to a place where I can take my 10 hour break.

My company doesn't tolerate shipper / receiver shenanigans. Yours shouldn't either.

I need a load of beautiful people to chase. We will have a party. No stress allowed. You can round up the staffers at the front office to start things off while we hose down the unoccupied lumpers out back.

    Tease...

I bet the shipper would have a discombulation...

I think that is quite enough for one night.

I scare myself sometimes because I recall some things that cannot be unseen in some of the syscos like the one in Albany...

    Me too.

All is well. I wish you a good evening. I don't want to come off any more stupid than I have already today.

I wonder how that's supposed to work with a car carrier since we never bobtail... well hardly ever..
