I like to think the "God-Emperors" of this job are smart enough to have runs where they don't have to deal with that sort of thing.

Sometimes, I'm really grateful for company policy.

We are not allowed to set foot in anyone's house. The garage is the most we can do. Now, if I'm delivering a 250# dresser to a little old lady who can barely move, well...let's just say I call upon the Magic Freight Fairies and PRESTO, the item just appears wherever in her house she wants it(Penn & Teller got nothin' on me, yo!).

But when folks order six--yes, SIX--mattresses and want them all brought upstairs(!!!), well sorry folks, I'm not allowed to cross the threshold. Company policy, ya know. ;)

Nope, I love gaylords full of cabbage. Easy on, easy off. I'm talking about heads of cabbage in mesh bags like the ones you'd put onions in. Every time you pick one up is like a wrestling match.

I've read posts from guys that have had to deal with those. Trying to stack those on pallets with only stretch wrap, and loading them on a flatbed yet, and is one of the absolute dumbest ideas I've ever heard.

That's one of those things that our outfit doesn't like to give a straight answer on. Can't have the drivers feeling in any way "empowered" you know.

Regardless, not setting foot in anyone's home is MY policy.

I got one... Any delivery that is marked COD. Especially when you know for a fact that the customer has an account and it is a accounting error.

I hate hate hate shaking people down for money. It's almost always an awkward situation

I get a lot of spa covers at my terminal. There in a huge cardboard box and only weigh 4-60 pounds. The problem with them is they are delivered mostly to people second home and it’s out in the middle of the woods

It's always nice when the knuckleheads in the collections department are too lazy to look up the BOL.
