I hope this never happens to me or anybody else but if it does, I pray to God that we can get the truck to the runaway lanes and if we mis the runaway lanes GOD PLEASE! give me/us the strength to plunge the rig off the road or into the mountain so nobody else gets hurt. Due to the gross negligence the company I worked for, the truck manufacture, Bendix breaks, the repair centers, tire manufactures and anybody else the engineers that my bride's attorneys will hire can think of to litigate this tragic event for all it's worth.

Sad thing is had he shot up a liquor store while robbing it in California or Chicago he'd be out in 5.

110 years is to harsh IMO. 20 to 40 would be sufficient IMO... But I also believe someone of authority from that company should be doing 20 to 40 right along side him, that would better serve justice I think.

I remember seeing a report somewhere that NHTSA was unable to determine with any certainty if his brakes had indeed failed or not, due to the fact that his truck was so catastrophically damaged in the collision. Apparently in some instanes it was impossible to tell which parts belonged to which trucks.

Not every driver has the intuition to stop before the SHTF...He had a opportunity to escape on a runaway ramp and failed to use it...
Bend him over and tell him take it like a man! This is the consequence of being scared and stupid. Lesson One, always think about what happens when you don't do the right thing and put the truck in a ditch to save lives.

I think a good DA could make Involuntary Manslaughter charges stick to someone of authority in that company. Thier Negligence put that driver behind the wheel amd failed to keep thier truck maintained, both these had a direct causation relation with this collision.

    Agreed!

And a few more people should probably be doing 25 years for their part.

Since the headlines have already been grabbed and "justice was done", I doubt the DA will authorize the resources as it would be an uphill battle that I doubt a prosecutor could win. I think the attempt to criminally prosecut someone at the company should be made as it would send a strong signal to the industry, but it's not going to happen.
