Has anyone been through International Truck Driving School in Bowling Green KY.?

I have heard from one former student who stated that they did notjing along the lines of job placement. Also only taught him enough to pass CDL test but no record keeping or anything like log books.

I understand that their course is three weeks and only cost $2500 which would be great for me as I live in Bowling Green but I would rather travel the hour away for one of three other schools that cost more if they are better.

Any insight about this school or others in KY would be appreciated.

Rumor is Volunteer in Christiana TN is shutting down.

Go for the tech school one.

Prehires are done by you! Call the companies and they will let you know if they will accept your school.

My school does some trip planning, and yes we did logs. They were required for my PTDI certification. We even did some night driving. I am going to roll over Monteagle tomorrow.

My class we have 216 hours before we graduate.

i just recently went to international truck driving school myself. i started march 29th got my cdl permit on April 2. i was taught my log books, i was also taught trip planning, and i was also taught the ins and outs of things you need to know before you can even think about the range. i was on the range for a while then jerry the driving instructor took me and 2 others out driving. these guys including sherman on the yard teaching your skills, will walk you into the bay until you tell him your ready to try it yourself then he will let you practice as he watches what you did wrong and asks you what you did. jerry the driving instructor will teach you driving and not on a course, he takes you out on the road and teaches you rather than a big yard like most schools do where you cant get the hang of traffic. jerry sherman and stephen are all good teachers in my book. it took me 45 times to get my logs right on a trip planning work sheet but stephen hung in there and was telling me when it was right and not right. AND I GRADUATED 3 WEEKS EARLY! i graduated 4/20/2010, my grades speak for themselves on the things people are saying they dont teach at this place. well guess what i will recommend anyone to this place to get their cdls.

THANK YOU LES SHERMAN STEPHEN AND JERRY FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND PUSHING ME AND HELPING ME AND TEACHING ME! WITHOUT YOU 4 IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. MAD PROPS TO THE INTERNATIONAL TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL IN BOWLING GREEN KENTUCKY. THEY ARE THE BEST AND WILL TEACH YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW AND GIVE YOU A PLACE TO STAY WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF PLACES TO EAT AND EASY WAY TO SCHOOL ALSO. PLEASE IF YOU WANT A GOOD SCHOOL PICK INTERNATIONAL TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL!

I am a recent grad of ITDS in Bowling Green, Ky and I am well pleased with the school' The cost was 25,00 and well wirth the money. The cost includes housing, which are super nice apts with private bedrooms and a private bath. They have an outdoor swimming pool, indoor excercise room amd computer room. The instructors are well qualified and the small classes afford the opportunity for one on one help if needed. The classroom session lasted one week and the instructor was a former teacher and driver who happens to have a masters degree. All the instructors are fully licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and must pass a series of tests. I graduated on a friday and was in orientation at Werner the following monday. My trainer at Werner said I was well trained, which made his job alot easier. I stromngly recommend ITDS, you cant co wrong...

Even though I have not attended this school myself, I have heard only the best about them. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a good CDL school in this part of the country.

I am a current member of this school. All I have to say is you get out of it what you put into it. They went over everything in the manual with the class and I passed the permit test with flying colors. If you try you can and will pass the test.

Does anybody else notice anything strange about these postings?

Look at the number of posts of kychef, Hellbent, 85end, and Nicholas. Look at the last seen date and time. Most of all.....notice how all 4 posts reflect the EXACT SAME STYLE and grammar as each other.

I know there is a way to see IP address' using vB...I would be willing to bet they are the same, or from the same primary.

i know this thread is way old, but it is the only one i can find about I.T.D.S. and I wanted to add my input for anyone who may be seeking info about this school. I am currently attending this school and i have to say that it seems rather lacking in what i expected from a school. The week in class was pretty much just spent studying the cdl manual, we done one map reading exercise with out hardly any direction from the instructor. after that we spent the next week just standing there watching the students that started before us practice skills.the first day of the next week, I spent one hour driving the rig around an industrial park ( keep in mind i've never drove a manual vehicle with a clutch in my life much less a ten speed tractor and trailer) then the next day, apparently thinking thats all the time i needed to learn they sent me out into the middle of the city to practice in traffic. i was terrorfied to the point that i was having panic attacks (granted i do have bad nerves but ####), i had no idea what i was doing and the trainer barking 10 different directions at me at did nothing to help the situation. his instructions on backing skills were pretty much to just get in the truck and do it.He was pretty quick to criticize you but not real great at trying to help you fix those problem he criticized you for.dont get me wrong the instructors were not horrible people, they could be very nice at times especaily the manager steve, but i just dont feel like they are very good instructors for people that are completely green to driving. the lessons should be taught much more slowly, not this rough crash course learning. i actually think i may leave this school, take a break and try another school later or just go back to college. My buddy warned me about getting what you pay for, dont be suckered in by the cheap price.
