How Are Groceries, Candy, and Soda Taxed in Your State?

Washington state charges sales tax on labor which kinda surprised me, But I am guessing that is an offset for no state income tax?

 

I think Florida taxes the plastic bags it’s in too...

 

Almost 30 years ago, I brought my soon to be wife out to California to meet family. She is GRITS. We went into a grocery store, she was quite surprised at what was in the place. Wine and liquor for one. The other was no tax on groceries.

 

The bottle fit perfectly in my refrigerator. The ones I have now are about 3 months old and I just keep refilling them. I though it was time to replace the plastic bottles.

The penny discount pissed me off. It’s like they’re saying we drivers aren’t smart enough to figure it out.

I can’t wait to call them tomorrow, wait on hold, and just complain. LOL

That does make sense then. I buy packaged water (sams club), and I also have a 3L bottle I refill about every day-day and a half for my pit. Seems she gets thirst after our runs.
