Yeah, clean out your truck. Going a little over on your HOS here and there isn't a big deal, but that's not why you're getting fired.

Willfully violating your HOS, planning it in advance and then TELLING YOUR SAFETY DEPARTMENT ABOUT IT is why you're getting fired. If you had just done it without saying anything you would have been fine.

Probabaly just a a safety meeting so they can document it, and put it in the file . If they ever get audited so the DOT auditor will see you got pulled in for a reprimand .

the premeditation is the tricky part , and it depends on how much over the HOS you ran.
If it was 16 minutes , that’s likely no big deal.
If you ran 4 hours over, , then that’s a big deal.
I wouldn’t sweat it too much ,if you get canned you get canned . It’s happened to
Most drivers on here .at some point .

That safety meeting is 100% a piss test just so you know. Don't stress over it, plenty of companies hurting for capable drivers. You'll be fine

I'd be surprised if it doesn't include a piss test. Step 1 in trying to off you

    do you get home frequently?
if so, you can unload truck now and put it back later if they don't fire you

Home every 3-4 weeks. I can get by for a month with just a phone and a week's worth of clothes though, so I'll probably just take everything out except that.

    Get ready.
I’d make you watch these safety videos.
2-3 days worth, and remember, you gotta log on duty not driving for the safety meeting.

    NavigatorWife Thanks this.

probably not fired but #####ed at.
    #### em. If you’re a good driver you’ll have a job before you get out of the parking lot.
if you want pretend you’re sorry and won’t do it again and it makes you look better.

You don't want to tell safety that's what you are going to do, especially in any form of writing.
You just do it, if you are going to do it, as there is a saying. "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission"...

I don't think you need to worry about termination.
