Nevada has their check station on I-15 open for all CMVs from California. I almost got picked out, but he blinked and grabbed truck behind me!

I’ve been riding around Md. and Pa. the only thing in Md on southbound 83 looked pretty busy but that’s normal. Pa. Between Md. and Bloomington I didn’t see anything happening. All the inspection sites were empty.

Nope. I was working a job where I had to fly between Denver and Albuquerque pretty regularly during the time DIA was supposed to first open in '94.

The earlier delays (in '93 iirc) were because the concrete contractor cheated a little on the slump specs for the longest runway in North America and a bunch of it had to be redone.

The half-billion dollar automatic baggage system was supposed to be the bee's knees. The girl at the counter would slap a bar code on your bag and it would automagically make its way on the computerized conveyor system to your waiting plane a mile away. There were problems upon problems, though; little things like the machines chewing up and smashing and crushing luggage, but we all know how uptight airline passengers are about their precious bags.

Probably just needed another half-billion dollars and some more time, but it became so embarrassing for Mayor Peña that they had to promote him to Secretary of Transportation to preserve his self-esteem. Eventually they scrapped the whole thing. I'm sure they would have anyway after the invention of the TSA, but they did it because they just couldn't get it to work.

Anyway, in '94 when I was flying back and forth to New Mexico, every month there would be a news story that DIA was finally going to open, but every time I'd end up going through Stapleton. I haven't flown for a long time. These days I deliver groceries to the Walmart and Sam's Club close to where the old terminal was.

And I might be alone in this, but I really miss watching the planes roll over the runway that went over I-70.

Got to Commie Annex East at 0830.

Was told product tank was full, would be "hours" before I could unload.

    It's 2230, still waiting. I don't care, tho.

I got food, water, access to a porta-potti, and Netflix.

And I'm getting paid by the hour to sleep.

This will make an already-good paying load an even BETTER paying load.......

    I am pleased.
