I hauled 864 tires in a van trailer from Dayton NJ to Pittsburgh and had to roll every tire off that trailer. I would've gladly paid someone to unload that...

Man what you said. I've had to do that a couple of times myself. Once I got into a rhythm it was OK, but the first 10 feet of tires will have you rethinking your life.

Kroger DC In Indy is always fun, outside carriers have to park in the right lane of a 4 lane street, because you’re not allowed on the property with their stuff til AFTER 6 PM. Just go find an abandoned warehouse 3 blocks away like i did, or you’ll be a sitting duck to someone flying down the street playing with their phone.

Then it’s $160 to unload 10 pallets of chips, $400 for a full load, so the driver at the next window was yelling about.

Why all the whining guys? The Receiver ultimately is paying for the lumper. Lumper charges for unloading, truck charges for lumper, shipper already included it in their rate for the product to the receiver. So while officially the receiver isn't paying those people. They did pay them by how much the shipper charged them for the product. All you are doing is circling that money back around to them. lol

I worked for a lumper service inside a Kelly Springfield and Lee Tire warehouse during a couple of my summers in college. Me and another guy would load two 53-footers before going home. I think we got as many as 1200 tires on a 53-footer?

This was the early 90s when fuel was cheap and from time to time, we would get a guy with reefer who would turn the reefer on because he knew he would get loaded faster in the Georgia heat.

    Lumper Pig Power!

It's the principal of the whole thing, will they pay me for opening my doors and backing into the dock. Hell NO, it's my job just like unloading their freight is their job. Just another case of stick it to us.

Imagine telling telling your UPS driver that'll be 20 bucks to bring my package to my door.

    I view lumpers/fees as a close analog to 1099ing a company driver
