Shut down for a 34 last night. Went in to grab McD’s came back out and walked up on the FCC trailer and went to unlock the door … but the door was white not red… LOL… ooops.

I was a bit slow realizing it was the wrong truck but thankfully didn’t attempt to open the door.

ya, I was a bit tired.

Do worry, when I was at Shaffer (in a red truck with a reefer trailer), another driver who was on the Crete side (who drove a blue truck with a dry van), walked up, opened my door (with me sitting in the drivers seat watching YouTube) and about jumped out of his skin when he saw me, then realized he was at the wrong color truck, apologized and walked away.

I did that at the Conway Truckload yard in Laredo. Opened the wrong truck. Dude was surprised.
Someone opened my door on me when I worked at Celadon.

This is why i always lock my doors. Regardless if I'm in the cab or not.

Doesn't always work.... there is a LOT of interoperability between keys and trucks.

Precisely. Our fleet, which has the majority of Volvos, about 300, I’d be surprised if there was any more then 5 different keys.

When I drove for Schneider, they had 15k trucks, mostly Freightliner Century, and some International Cabovers. On the FL, there were only 9 keys.

That's crazy. That would explain why a few people that locked themselves out of their truck have came up to me and ask if they can try my key.

Kinda remember a thread here where the company had all the trucks keyed alike. So another driver could help out a fellow company driver. For some reason I thought that was FCC… guess not.
One time when I worked for Magnum, I fueled in South Beloit… Pulled up, went inside got my receipt came back out, walked up to a Magnum truck and was about ready to open up the door when a huge pitbull all the sudden was in the window barking at me… I don’t have a dog. Scared the crap out of me and it wasn’t my truck obviously… lol :)

I kind of miss that lane from Beloit up to the Twin Cities. Spent a bunch of time driving in MN and WI.

Wisconsin is one of my favorite states, for a variety of reasons.
