I just got a beautiful 2024 T680 and the seat is insane. It drops to the floor and then shoots me to the moon. It'll settle down when I'm rolling but drops to the floor again when I stop. I've talked with the shop and they said the seat has a computer in it. How do I unplug that computer? I just want a normal seat, right now the seats on the floor and I'm using cussions to make the difference

Without the electronics it will stay on the floor and won't inflate. The only way to beat it is to take it to a dealer for a warranty repair, or have it pulled out and replaced with an aftermarket seat that doesn't have that crap. I personally think those auto deflating seats are garbage, but I believe that is standard equipment on a 680.

I don’t believe they’re standard equipment. Ours have the base KW seat with only ride height and lumbar adjustments. I believe, they’re as cheap as my employer could buy.

My new Pete has a seat like that. I don't mind it but it did take a little bit of getting used to.

Mine only inflates and deflates when you sit down or stand up. Maybe you can have them change the computer settings so that yours will do that, instead of changing when you start rolling or when you come to a stop.

That’s the way my seat works and it’s from a wrecked T680

I just thought that because there is a YouTube channel (Andy The Kenworth Guy) who is a salesman at a KW dealer that does inside and outside tours of the new trucks and when doing the interior he mentions those model seats as 'the standard KW seats'.

what I find annoying about them, if you're rolling down tbe road and decide to sit up straight, you take pressure off the butt sensor and it drops pressure. The 1st one I had tried to kill me. I was putting stuff away and something fell down beside the seat (with the door open) I layed down on my stomach to retrieve it (forgetting it was that type of seat) and it inflated, trapping me between the seat and steerting wheel. I thought I was driving a big truck version of "Christine". Fortunately I could get to the emergency deflate button.

Maybe the OP's seat has a defective "butt" sensor that tells the electronics when to inflate or deflate.

Mine doesn't do that. Maybe they can adjust the sensitivity on yours.

Maybe they ARE the standard seat and my employer demanded something cheaper. These people are cheap. Haha.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
