I did end up getting McKinley paper. Load info says 1500-2100. I'm gonna use that as an excuse to stop somewhere between Los Lunas and there for a few hours and use a split sleeper.

I finally made the decision to come over to FCC. Schedule to start orientation on August 28th. Ryan iin recruiting gave me the all good, just pending my current employer verification. I cant wait to start, will be so glad to turn this truck into my current company on the 21st. Tired of there crap. I have heard nothing but good things about FCC.

Welcome to FCC, BL19811! You have reached the Oasis in the jungle that is the trucking industry! Or Shangri-LA if you prefer. Get ready to experience what every trucking company should be like but isn't. It doesn't get a whole better than this.

Just wondering if you guys have your TWIC card for the ports. Especially in NC. I was dispatched a load in Morehead City and was told to call the broker and call for an escort one hour before arrival. Did that, but the lady told me if I didn't have a TWIC, I couldn't get an escort and not to come at all. OK. Called my DM and let her know what they said. So, I was taken off the load, so I turned into a Circle K in Kinston and within minutes given a new load to Maxton NC going to Ottawa KS. I didn't really want to get a TWIC, but if FCC was planning to run me to the ports, maybe it's a good idea to get one? What say you, Peanut Gallery?

Those little single serving cups of Kraft Mac-N-cheese (or the cheap Great Value ones I buy) will occasionally pop open like that too...I ended up putting my dry food like that in small totes because I got sick of cleaning up spillage.

I just got mine again after letting the other expire. The reason I did is they charge $75 for an escort which is totally worthless as far as security. You literally follow them to check-in area and they say buh-bye. The TWIC pays for itself in 2 trips so it’s worth it time wise. I don’t think FCC does much in the ports though to make it worthwhile

Shipper says load won't be ready until midnight. Guess that means I get to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at the truckstop down the road.

Officially orientated. Been a long day. Talked to a looot of people. Got a 2022 Cascadia condo with 200 thousand on the ticker. Holy hell the steering is light on that thing.
Most of the folks were very cool. Not sure, I may change to Long Haul. My DM seems like a reasonably nice guy but it just felt like we were talking past each other a lot. Also not sure I desperately need to be home every weekend. I need to take a few days off at the end of the month and would like to run pretty hard for the next few weeks so a)I don't have to eat cat food for a week and b) the truck is staying more than productive enough to keep FCC happy.
They cover a lot so it's easy to lose track of things. It just occurred to me on the way back to the hotel that I never learned anything about how to fuel at the pumps in Fremont. The 10 dollar card for the Company Kitchen doesn't work or I'm not smart enough to use it. It kept slipping my mind and it's not worth fussing over.
