You see though, since I'm under a load and town is in the direction of the reciever, I don't think FCC would be too happy if I used PC.

Sitting at the Petro on Fargo. Really need a shower so detoured over here. Uff Da, this place is kind of a dump. Could have just gone to the Love’s (still have diamond status to the end of the month) but TA/Petro used to have much nicer showers. Hope that holds true. The rest of the place isn’t much to look at, though credit where it’s due, they do actually have a sit down restaurant. I’ll know next time.
Started out the day at the very nice TA in Summit, SD. Hit two stops In Fargo unloading plastic pipe. First stop was time consuming and dirty, coils were floor loaded in a tangle. Second stop was quick other than half of Fargo is under construction so had to do lots of detouring while the GPS yelled “You idiot.” Took a while and some more orange barrels and GPS provoking to get out of Fargo and out to St Hilaire, MN. Had to wait for them to get back from lunch and then it took about an hour to get theirs off. No dock so they had to do the hand jack it to the tail then set it off game.
Finally got rolling and went to a Honey farm(?) In the middle of nowhere. Took about an hour and a half. Wound up not having any involvement in securing the load other than emptying my side box of straps. They needed 6 straps to get it secure and it’s a drop. I’m down to one. I’ll have to ask in the morning how I go about getting more.
Still need to scale. The Petro doesn’t have a CAT scale, so I’ll have to roll through the Loves in the morning anyhow. Had the tandems slid all the way forward to get out of there (skinny gravel roads with soft shoulders) and assumed I’d need to slide way back. Nope. Wound up only being able to slide them a little over a foot before the suspension gauge said ’no mas’. Anyway, heading down to Sioux City in the morning to drop this off and see what adventures await.

The only truck stop in Fargo that's worth anything in my opinion is the Stamart at the 12th street N exit. Always had decent showers. You can use your PFJ points and shower credits there as well.

Next time you get through Council Bluffs or Fremont just go to the parts window and ask for more straps.

Forgot to mention, pour one out for my ~13 year old Rand McNally TND GPS. Thing had a flaky power connection back when I was OTR last, I gambled and bought a new cable for it and was happy when it worked. Alas it shut down in East Grand Forks and it seems like it’s back to its old tricks. Happy to have gotten a few more weeks out it for a $9 investment.

I grew up in Fargo and Grand forks in the 70s and 80s before I moved to omaha in 1990 , still amazing to me how that area has grown since ...pop of Fargo back then was about 65000 and violent crime was a rarity.
    GF was about 25000 .
Towns like st. Hillare over in Minnesota thrived back then and are ghost towns now .
Was a cool place to grow up but since all the oil money came in bringing the trash with it I've no desire to ever move back .
