    True, but not allowing you to take the trailer for repairs is a dick move.

    I disagree. It is the only way to ensure that the owner does not shop around for a favorable inspection. Any potential higher cost to replace the tires I would consider a "stupid tax"

    The owner is running under Landstar's DOT number and is exposing it to points which potential increases the cost of insurance and how much the other drivers get yanked in for inspections

    If it was me I would look at terminating the lease, but I am a Dick. How poorly maintained is the rest of the truck and trailer if they can't even keep the tires good?
