So I've been here since February and I've only been at the safety desk in Fremont a few times to talk to Mike or Nick. I walked in today and I was surprised by how many people knew me by name. The lady at the window (i forget what her name is) knew me, Trey called me by name even though we've only talked maybe twice. Even James at the CB shop knew who I was just by walking up to the window. I've never experienced this at either company I was at before.

If you think that's bad, look at this. $5,600 to fix a burned-out tail light.

That's what he told me when I asked him how long he had been working here. He said he was at Werner for 25 years and he's been at FCC for almost 9.

Pulled into town half an hour ago and walked into the house just now. I have a bit of an extended weekend as my appointment at General Mills isn't until Tuesday at 1500. I'll barely scrape by over 2,000 miles this paycheck but it's trucking. A few slow weeks are to be expected no matter the company.

The Mack Anthems are the same way. A company I worked for bought 50 of them, Mack knew there was an issue with the headlights but they're only warrantied for 12 months. After that, it was $800/headlight. I think Mack was trying to avoid replacing them at their expense and hoped they made it 366 days before going bad.

The "Check Engine Light" was probably the most profitable idea that car/truck manufacturers ever came up with.
