Thank you. They pay me entirely too much money for me to go out and deal with the stresses of owing my own truck. Only to probably net less.

Figured that little mini-step box wouldn't be good for anything but tire chains to rust away in.

I was glad to see him post that pic. I store my tire chains in mine and thought I might be over stressing it. Not a chance, those are some big chains ya’ll utilize.

    Lonesome and Winnyf1 Thank this.

My old truck had one and that’s where the tire chains and fluids went…gave me more room under the bunk

About the last 300k of my last truck I had 8 chains in that 12” step box. I never understood why we hang chains where we have to drag them on to the cat walk to hang the heaviest thing we use for securement.

if I had my own truck I would have something like this. Chains, binders all at ground level. Maybe I should just go work for one of these companies? IMG_4748.png IMG_5502.jpeg IMG_5603.jpeg IMG_5878.jpeg IMG_5114.jpeg IMG_1946.png

When I had the KW, I kept my straps in the passenger side box so they would dry out when I used the hvac and my snow chains and fluids in the step box...with this Volvo, my whole passenger side box is full of Carrier APU components, so I have only 1 usable sidebox, and it's overflowing, which means my straps stay wet in the step box

I need an exorcist.... yesterday I ran 666 miles...today I ran....666 miles. I won't run that tomorrow, once I deliver in the morning, I run back over to Santa Fe Springs and pick up another Park City transfer load. Once I deliver that one later in the week, I will have just over 10k paid miles for the month...who said you can't turn good miles pulling a skateboard!!!!

One thing I can say about SPD, the communication from management in Arlington needs drastic improvement. When my 1st dispatcher departed, I only found out after repeatedly trying to message him and the person covering for his absence just happened to see my messages. When any of my other dispatchers would be off sick, only once in a while would we get a "I am covering so-n-so's board today" message. When this lastest member of management departed, not one word was said about him being gone from High Command. Now, our last day at our current Wichita terminal is the 20th of this month (as in this Friday...and it's Tuesday)not one peep from Arlington about the change. In fact, when I was in Wichita last week, I asked the terminal manager where we're moving to and all I got was "a couple miles down the road"... Really? We don't have an address or directions? We're just gonna have to go on an Easter egg hunt driving around pulling a trailer until we see a building with our trailers parked around it? They'll probably post the new address on Facebook...but not all of us do socialist media, so some of us won't see it...I have a phone, text it to me. I have a Peoplenet, send out a fleet wide message...heck, email it to me. Something...

Yep, they have always been bad about all the things mentioned. For all 9 years I have been here. This most recent situation is pretty ridiculous that they didn’t put out some sort of message about the director of DRIVER services parting ways with the company. Ironically he would be the person to usually put that info out.
