i don’t know why FCC requires the post trip to be at least 7 minutes. When i was going through orientation with Schneider, they basically said that you’re doing something wrong if your post trip is longer than 5 minutes at the most, and they drilled safety into my head as much as FCC does

In the paper log days, many companies said that they wanted the post trip time logged because a) you had to do a VIR every day, whether you found something wrong or not, and b) if you were pushing up against your 70, on duty time can exceed the 70 hour limit. That way, you could literally drive right up to the 70th hour, then show inspection time beyond 70, thus utilizing every minute possible to drive. Now that you are only required to fill out a VIR if you find a defect (unless your company requires one every day), that time that you would use filling out a VIR isn't added on to the inspection time. Back in the paper log days, if it didn't take you over 7 minutes to do something, you could just flag it on the log, and many companies felt that the extra time for a VIR put you over that 7 minute mark, so they wanted you to log on duty time for it. Now that we have the digital time master, where every second is accounted for, most companies want you to show on duty time for both pre and post trip. I personally do a 10ish pre and a 5ish post.

My pretrip is usually 8-12 minutes and my post trip varies from 2 to 6 or 7. If I just grabbed a trailer and had on duty time and showed an inspection on it but I only go up the road a few minutes and park for the day then I’ll cut my post trip short and only show one for my truck. I haven’t had anyone say anything about how I’ve been doing it.

How do we get a truck wash if we're not at Fremont? Does Blue Beacon swipe our EFS card, do we write a paper EFS check? I have a wash PO, but do I write that in the space on the EFS check?

    motocross25 Thanks this.

There’s a spot on the trip sheet for the wash PO and then I also write the PO on the receipt before I scan it. I can’t help you with the EFS check, I pay for the trailer wash and get reimbursed.

No, you just walk in there and tell the blue beacon folks you have a PO., no need for a check or anything. Then just scan in the receipt with the next load.

I've paid for trailer washouts and been reimbursed, but I was hoping it worked differently for regular truck washes, without me as a middleman. I can pay and get reimbursed, but there should be a way for Fremont to pay directly.

For a truck/trailer wash, send in a macro requesting a wash. Give that PO to the folks at Le Bleu Beacon, and there you have it. FCC just paid directly for a truck wash...

I think you can charge at Blue Beacon with a PO. But I’m also the new guy. @cdavis188 will be able to answer you.
