I use the Trucker Path app on my phone and it’s a great resource but I would have reservations about having it on the tablet for new drivers because it has a Navigation feature that sometimes has some pretty sus recommendations. The Copilot system on there is a little better (but still has a lot of great ideas as to how I can get fired and make it on Bonehead Truckers).

That’s what my Garmin GPS is for. It has always done a lot better than any company provided navigation

I worked for one company that forced CoPilot onto their tablets and it was linked to the dispatch system so it would always give you the option of routing to each stop, and for some reason, they opted for the weather alert system to be turned on. The problem was, it wasn't location specific so on occasion you would get a weather warning pop up on your screen for someplace that was on the route that you already passed thru.

I never liked having any nav system running on the same unit as my logbook. I like it so when I stop for a break, I don't have to go thru multiple exit screens to get back to my log app just to go off duty.

another driver came up to my window and said my APU was leaking coolant and pointed it out to me. The unit wasn’t even running. Thankfully there's coolant shut off valves under the hood. So i can still continue on my way, i just won’t have an APU and will have to idle until i can swing by the shop to get it fixed

Oh.... that's some BS.... almost every single time I have lost coolant, it has been from an APU line, or the lines running to the heater core in the bunk.
