The only good times to go into LA, if there is such a thing, is between 10 and 1, and at zero dark thirty. But honestly it’s a total crapshoot there regardless of the time

You should ask @Modlite11 ifnhe can teach you some flat bedding stuff. At least a quick securment class if you got time and meet up.

Now that's not really fair. I worked my whole life as a local Teamster driver in Los Angeles. Was it frustrating at times, yes. Did I look at the traffic maps every day, yes. The only reason why was because I wanted to get back home as early as I could. And I'm not talking about the terminal.

Since I run nearly the same run (no complaints) most every week, it’s highly predictable. From Barstow to customer 1h45-2h. From Riverside to Costa Mesa 1h30-2h depending on how quick I get out of from unloading. So far the only wrench that’s been thrown in was the night/morning there was a police chase and shootout NB at Cajon that REALLY backed things up.

That would be easy! If it can move, it’s not tight! But there are varying amounts of tightness that one applies to a load of drywall that would make a load of lumber end up on a highway. Or same concept with a load of shingles vs a load of pipe.

apparently that rumored truck stop on the south side of town will be a Maverik. Kind of excited because i don’t think i’ve ever stopped at one before IMG_4354.jpeg

They have pretty decent hot box food. The burritos are usually good. Most of the ones out west have pretty limited parking. I’m surprised to see this one having 50 spots.
