I think the next time I email him it will be as I am leaving and it will be an "I told ya so" farewell. I just hope, now the election is over with, the economy stabilizes and other types of trucking starts rebounding for driver pay.

Well I had a bit of excitement today. Heading down I-16 at the blistering pace of 68mph my front escort blew a front tire and his F-250 was in the median before I knew what happened. We were very fortunate to not have anyone next to him. The cable barrier was also on the other side of the median.
I parked on one side and the other escort, also in an f-250 flipped around and he pulled him back up onto solid ground. His front axle was sunk pretty good. Those two changed the tire while I flagged traffic. I only got flipped off once, three cars didn’t move over for us, and we were back on the road in 29 minutes. Overall I would call that a success.

But and it’s a painful truth, so long as the load arrives safely it’s more cost effective to have a lower paid driver deliver it. Experience is counting less and less as the trucks become easier to drive and drivers come under more time management. This used to be a more enjoyable gig, don’t get me wrong I love the driving, but the industry practices are making me look forward to 2029… -

Slight bit of timing change, my load out of El Monte doesn't load until tomorrow so I am chillin here at the Rancho yard and can still make it to Charleston by Saturday.
Unloading went a lot better than the loading. Got to the receiver at 07:30 (who's property is right next to the 25' border wall), the crane crew was just setting up, so they backed me in, I opened up and had straps off in 10 minutes, 10 minutes later, both pieces that needed the crane were on the ground, 10 minutes later the crates were off and I was in the street sending in paperwork. When I got to the San Diego Pilot yesterday, I saw the other driver who picked up ahead of at the port. He didn't make it to the receiver until I was done and had my paperwork scanned in getting ready to put it in gear and make a run from the border.Knucklehead, dwells40, hotrod1653 and 2 others Thank this. -
I got unloaded and reloaded pretty quick in Savannah this morning. But as usual my log book is getting in the way of my productivity. The run from Tulsa to Fort Worth was going to be real tight to get done Wednesday and then get back to kc for thanksgiving. Boss man said drop in Tulsa and head home. Someone else will do the Tulsa to Oklahoma. So I’ll get 3 and a half days off and head back to Tulsa to load a 15’8” tall 14’3” wide 58k pound cooler for northern Alberta.Knucklehead, Lonesome, supersnackbar and 1 other person Thank this. -
