I’m not a big fan of any of that either. I’m older and can’t find a job, so I’m doing this to keep from going homeless in about 2 months. I haven’t worked since March, 40+ applications out, 3 interviews and nothing! 35 years as an AWS Certified Welder and no call backs even have HVAC license, yet nothing. Crazy! In construction I didn’t see the house much and lived out of a suitcase, so in that aspect it’s about the same.

That’s crazy. I’ve got a friend who’s son is 21 and making $60hr welding pipeline in Texas.

Once you’re out of training, taking home $1,000+/week is very doable, even on the regional fleet (if I managed to do it, you can do it). This isn’t Swift or some other mega carrier where you get paid peanuts and given 1,800 miles a week. Also, nothing’s stopping you from having to go home every weekend. If you want to work for 1.5-2 weeks to make a bit more money, they’re totally okay with you doing so. I believe you will really like it here

Also you’re going onto Midwest Regional, right? If so, @Long FLD and i believe @motocross25 both drive on that fleet. They would be your go to people if you need help finding particular shippers/receivers and what not on that fleet

Well, it’s Trucking… things change. FCC had the perfect plan to get me out two days and back in time for my RTO for thanksgiving. But, as mentioned before, trucks in the Shop. But thankfully we have options. And FCC would certainly do everything to keep me in a truck with wheels rolling but at this point I’m just opting to start RTO early and head to CB to grab my PV and go to Lincoln early to start my time off a bit early.
If I don’t dip back in before then, Have a Happy Thanksgiving and for those running, stay safe.Friend, dwells40, Silverdriver and 4 others Thank this. -
What is FCC starting trainees out at? My nephew just got his cdl, and will be starting with JB. Was wondering if FCC's pay scale was comparable to JB's without all the bullfeces.
