Whether it's a prostate exam or a colonoscopy, either way it's a pain in the ###. It's not this that's the problem, it's the what's next that has me concerned.

at least you’re on mileage pay. Those of on a monthly salary don’t know what’s going to happen. Weekly pay doesn’t neatly line up with a monthly salary.

unfortunately I’d bet our payroll people got let go. The documents say payroll will be processed out of Egan, mn office.

I thought they were doing away with all other pay plans other than the per mile package.

The F'd up part of the schedule for rest of the year is I had my sick days set up so 3 days paid on one pay period, so the 1st check of next year would have had $900 in sick pay plus what ever miles I turn between now and Christmas (I doubt I turn anything more other than my deadhead to Arlington from Pasco on the remaining days of this pay period). Now, being on a Sunday-Saturday pay period, those sick days will be on 2 different pay periods, and 1 of those days will be all by it's lonesome and no mileage with it. Plus with me doing a lot of coast to coast runs along with most of our deliveries being the typical flatbed M-F delivery days, I can forsee a lot more weeks where I don't take home anything because all the miles I ran will be carried over. I didn't like bi-monthly pay when I first started here, but after a few months, I saw what an advantage it was and grew to prefer it...now, going back is gonna suck. I am kicking myself for not throwing in the SPD towel when Chubby made the announcement that we were being partnered with We-lie way back when. Ever since, it's been one disappointment after another when it comes to new policies.

i mean, you’re still getting paid the same amount at the end of the day regardless of whether you’re paid weekly or twice a month…

In a way, yes, but when it's twice a month, you never get a $0 check unless you take 2 weeks off. With weekly, when it carries over, then you get a $0 (actually it would be a negative amount because now they will take out insurance weekly), so now when it carries over and you have 2 weekly insurance deductions out of a 7 day check, after a non-paying week, so that makes it a short check too. With the twice a month, you have a 15 day pay period and then a 2nd 15 or 16 day pay period(except February) so you get that extra day or two per period to finish off a load before the pay period ends. And twice a month, you can balance your hometime across two big pay periods and still take home enough to pay some bills. With weekly, you most likely will have at least 1 non-paying week. So basically, even running like I am now, I will never get back to what I grossed last year, or the year before when I was with Creaffer. Honestly, the more they change ####, the more I miss grocery warehouses.

Plus, you have to keep in mind, open deck customers aren't usually open on weekends, so one carryover till Monday means you have until Friday to get a 2nd load to make it a more than 7 day check, but if you don't, you're not making up any ground from the 1st week that carried over.
