I’ve been on them for 6 months. I only take them in the morning. The challenge sometimes is getting pulled to the shoulder in time, but i just wasn’t getting sleep taking them later.

Same here. I’ve been on them since 2009. This getting older isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be.

Not a great start to the day. Supposed to be in Nashville tomorrow morning at 06:00. Auto-inflater got it up but waiting at Shoemakers now for the shop to open to hopefully patch it. Doesn’t look great for on time delivery. I really want to get in and out early down there to hopefully dodge the ice storm this weekend (normally out of Nashville they usually send me to the Chicago area or Topeka)

Which way would you guys take to Phoenix from I-40? A bunch of highways from Holbrook, AZ or 40 to Flagstaff and 17 south?

That route from Holbrook to Phoenix isn’t for the faint of heart, especially if you’re loaded heavy. Some deep descents and hard pulls as you get closer to Phoenix.

We pulled copper plates out of a copper mine east of Phoenix years ago, I ran from there back up to 40 instead of going back through Phoenix, It’s beautiful, but it can increase the pucker factor.

Piss jugs are a thing. I often hear guys say they have/will not use one. I’m not sure I believe them. Just be mindful and dispose of them properly. Don’t pour them out on the asphalt and don’t just toss the jug and all out the window. I prefer not to #### in a bag, but sometimes you will get a bug and there is just no making it to a toilet. Again dispose of it as respectfully as possible.

If you have a light load and some time and enjoy scenery I’d cut out of Holbrook. But if a road is just a means to get from A to B and it doesn’t matter what you look at all day then I’d go Flagstaff.
