@Cherokee65 give Magnum a call. I’m sure @cdavis188 can give you the inside information for them. They are based right here in Fargo, and from what I’ve seen (on the LTL-dedicated side) they are a very decent company to work for.

I’d stay away from National, mostly because of the meat patch wait times amongst other things. Butler or Marten would be your other best 2 choices not named Swift.

I have nothing but good things to say about Magnum. And looking back, i left for rather trivial reasons. They’re definitely at the top of my list if things with FCC ever go south for me

Their pay is on the lower side but pay isn’t everything

Which is one reason I suggested them. They have that reputation of being a good company, to train and be trained.

I’m not sure if Mark is still doing the orientation here in Fargo or not, but he’s one of the best ones I’ve seen to do it.

Knucklehead, Cherokee65 and cdavis188 Thank this.

He’s probably still there then. He’s like a few of us older drivers, won’t retire but will fade off into the sunset one day.

Seriously @Cherokee65 give Magnum a call. That’s your best choice, imo.

Check with ACT American central transport in KC it's dry van, skip the reefer companies if possible.

    • I just applied at Butler and I’ll apply at ACT in just a minute. Dry van is my preferred option. Reefer if nothing else. But, don’t want to be sitting when I could be moving making money. Thank you every single one of you for your input, advice and support. It’s very much appreciated. My wife and I are within a month or so of being homeless and I don’t want to be. Thank you guys!!

Hogan might be an option too. They run dedicated Bomgaars freight (the old Orschelns) and that warehouse is just south of Moberly MO, if memory serves.

    Is their freight “no touch”??

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a dock at a Bomgaars now that you say it. They’ll probably lift a pallet jack up to you, and have you tailgate it. Or all loads leaving the dc might have an electric jack in the back.

    Knucklehead and Cherokee65 Thank this.
