I’m the type of guy who will listen and do things the way I’m told to do it. I don’t do it “my way.” There’s a reason I’m told to do it a certain way… Because it works! I’m all about GOAL and preventing issues before they become a preventable accident. I’ll be “ears open and mouth shut.” Unless I need clarification on something.

The biggest pice of advice I can give is to try and remember the correct way to do things, when things are going bad. There will be a lot of days where nothing is going right, and it’s so easy to cut corners and not care. Most days you’ll be able to get away with doing that, but it only takes one cut corner to end your job at Schneider, and possibly in trucking In General. When it’s going sideways don’t get in a bigger hurry. The time is already lost.

Advice well taken and I’ll put that into practice.

Always stay soft when in the truck with a trainer so you two can fit better.

    Copy that.

I hope this dudes trainer was better than mine. I got stuck with a gay black guy, then after he went home, to keep me rolling, they stuck me for the last week with a MEAN black guy. What's funny is that after I got out of his truck we then became friends.

If he'd centered his steers at about the 2:58 mark, then a turn to the left from center about 3:03 the trailer would have walked right into the hole and he wouldn't have been anywhere close to the "tractor-trailer blocking the space". Carl f'd up on purpose to 'get the shot'.

We also gave Carl so much grief about the cell phone in his back pocket, because the video made just before this one was about not using your cell phone while driving. Carl made a big deal about putting his phone in the back cabinet before doing any thing with the truck.

And for the peanut gallery about to comment on how clean Bob and Carl's jackets are - they were issued new ones that morning when the media crew saw their grease stained daily wear.

Awesome! Instructors at Clement told us… TYT. Take Your Time! Don’t let another driver push you because that’s when accidents happen.

4am, in Memphis at the hotel and ready for today to get started!

First day went very well. My mouth shut pretty well…:D Took a few tests, 100% on all but 1… 90% on it. Everyone was very nice!! First job interview I’ve ever had that I wasn’t so nervous. No nerves at all today. Almost like I fit in with everyone. So far, loving it!

I like the fact that they want you to GOAL as much as you need to. At the academy they only wanted you to GOAL 2 times, but they were only setting us up to pass the CDL test.
