I hear if you pull the fuse for the city horn, that also solves the issue. At least on the kenworths it does.

Until you get pulled in for an inspection and it won't blow...and the DOT can smell a defect a mile away. With my luck, the next scale I would pull in to after pulling the fuse, I would get a Level 1

Had my biggest fuel-up today. I was down to 1/8 tank with the "low fuel message" popping up, and from that empty to full it only took 125 gal. My Volvo at SPD would have taken 175-180 gal.

Ok when was your last level one where they actually asked you to sound the horn? Haven’t had to sound mine in years…

I had one the other day in NC level 2 and was asked to honk both city and air horn.

    393.81 Horn.
Every bus, truck, truck-tractor, and every driven motor vehicle in driveaway-towaway operations shall be equipped with a horn and actuating elements which shall be in such condition as to give an adequate and reliable warning signal.

A horn is required, you don’t actually need both an air horn and a city horn. Common misconception.

My last inspection I was asked to honk my horn and a short toot on the air horn was just fine.

Knucklehead, 88 Alpha and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

The fuel gauges on Freightliners are wildly inaccurate. Empty is basically a 1/4 tank. We run dual 120’s and when i run it down to empty, i usually only put 160-170 in give or take.

My ‘21 579 on the other hand, if you were on empty, you better find a fuel station in a ####ing hurry. Don’t ask me how i know

Big gripe on my '23. WAY, WAY the #### off. Makes very difficult to estimate burn for maximizing fueling strategy & just plane BS on knowing what you have left before running out. No help on estimating fuel additives, either. Have k8nda gotten a handle on it, but way, way the hell off.

Dealership says all A-OK. Bull doo doo. One of several issues they say all good, that are not.

    Duel 130's.

Fill to handle cut off, shows below full. Overfill max to lip (definately max), needle barely at full.

At overfill max to lip, down to 7/8ths within 40/50mi.

Big pisser for me, as I have always been used to short fueling stops & estimating close enough on those short stops to come in almost on fumes to cheapest final fuel.

I believe I'm going to have to crack out an old "scan gauge" that I bought years ago & have never used, just to know what the hell my fuel burn & level actually is.

Freighty has been useless on this issue & a several others non serious issues that just piss me off.

Spent a hell of a lot of money on this #### & you would expect the selling dealership to stand behind their product, even with minor issues when new. NOPE.

Just charge you for time looking at everything to just say all is good & you know it is not.

Word of advice I learned the hard way long ago, for all you Freighty drivers......

If you develop any issues with a Detroit engine or transmission, go directly to Detroit facility & bypass all the BS you get from the stealerships. Go to the source whom actually knows what the hell they are doing with what they manufacture. You will thank me at some point.

No powerplant issues, but all this small crap brought it to mind & thought I'd throw it out there.

Freightliner service does typically suck most of the time.✌️
