I had quite a few of these issues. The first few weeks I came back and I texted Kutter that if this is how it’s gonna be, I’m gonna return the truck to the nearest terminal and leave again and not come back… Send send I’ve had very few issues that have affected my miles

I mean let them dispatch it. It’s on them when they didn’t pay attention and realize that you’re in the shop.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of this corporate/mega carrier bs

Our breakdown department is probably the best thing about my company. They will bend over backwards for you

That's the one thing Wylie hadn't screwed up over at SPD (before I left, can't say if they have done anything since my departure). The regular breakdown guy was awesome to deal with, he was a driver for them at one time, then had trucks leased to them. And has been with them off and on for a long time, and he was an easy guy to deal with because he has been in our shoes and knows the crap we deal with. When I was headed towards Toledo to drop off my truck, I messaged him offering to drop it off at Volvo to have the issues it had taken care of, within 5 minutes he was calling me to chat about why I was leaving and to say bye (in a friendly way) and wished me all the best. Hell, even my dispatcher didn't bother to wish me luck, but the breakdown guy took the time..

SSB this is how you deal with it.. preplanned yesterday for a load picking up today between 1400 and 2200… i leave the house approximately 7 to 7:30 in the morning and I drive three hours back up to Wilmer as I pull into the yard at around 11:30. They call me and tell me that the pre-plan was changed and they have another load that has to deliver by Tuesday night in South Carolina same exact load that I was preplanned on as far as going to a Walmart…

I have to go to a customer to pick up an empty trailer, which happens to be half empty on fuel so I have to go fuel it up and get it washed out..

I told him that it’s not gonna make midnight tomorrow so they respond by saying we’re gonna have to repower because it has to be there on time and as you could see by my message to response to that is that’s exactly what I’m gonna do and they know dang well that I will do that and I don’t back down and they realize it at this point… and according to my asset manager, he says he was never notified of them changing the load. I don’t know if that’s the truth or not because he sent a message this morning at 7:30 asking if I was in the truck when I’m never in the truck that early in the morning I come back

also was supposed to pick up at 1600 yesterday

at 1633 today I get a message saying the trailer is now preloaded so basically the shipper is 24 hours behind schedule loading the trailer and they think the appointment is gonna still be for tomorrow night at midnight… I’m 969 miles away and I still haven’t picked the trailer up… that’s why I already told dispatch I’ll be there early Wednesday morning

They finally pulled the preplan. The planner had messaged me directly saying he would give me a day of layover because the preplan wasn't very productive, which gave me a name to reply to and tell him I was still in the shop.

And, I am still in the shop. They got the windshield replaced before doing this Cali emissions test. After 2 engine cycles, he had to do a software update, which reset the engine cycle count back to 0. So, they sent me to a hotel for the night. The cycle they have to do is just heat the engine up to normal operating temp, then cool it back down to no temp 5 times and this supposedly resets this fault code that inhibits the certification test. But, I don't know if they figured out what is throwing the fault code in the first place. Knowing my luck, on cycle #5, whatever threw the code in the first place will fault again and then he'll have to do all this again after he replaces whatever sensor or part that is intermittently bad.

Oh believe me, I have the sarcastic attitude to fire off some very borderline offensive retorts to some of their crap. When I was at Crete, the Deland terminal manager used to hate Mondays because she used to see a pile of emails from managers about whom I pissed off (and unloaded on) over the weekend. My wife and I joke about how the reason I don't get a return call from operations is because they're arguing amongst themselves to see who has to talk to me when I am in one of those sarcastic moods. Nobody wants to poke the bear that has already bitten a few heads off.

@drvrtech77 I jad something similar happen this weekend. I come out of the house Sunday afternoon. Friday I was preplanned on a load going to San Antonio for 0300 Monday morning. Get to the truck with my lunch about 1430 Sunday and double check my load assignment and delivery time was pushed back to 0500 Tuesday. Lucky for me someone fell off a load right after calling dispatch about that
