This sounds like the first driver who picked it up didn't notice the difference on the bills and didn't say anything to dispatch just brought it to the yard. Shipper error and driver error. Dispatch probably should have called the shipper with his bol number to verify it I would have.

Nope. A load of used pallets going to Crete.
Interesting business model.
Collect, or Buy Back, the used pallets from an area and then sell them back to companies to then use again. Rinse/Repeat
(ya, nothing new but I think this is my first load of recycled pallets. Never gave much thought as to the flow of pallets… lol)
and DANG they have a metric shiiit ton of pallets there too. Would be fun to make a “corn maze” out of them… lol

Years ago companies had to exchange pallets. If your load required 30 pallets, you brought 30 empty pallets in to swap for your loaded pallets or else had to pay the shipper for the 30 pallets they loaded your freight on.MidWest_MacDaddy, Friend, motocross25 and 3 others Thank this.

I hated that practice l, I’m glad that no longer is a thing.Goody3635, MidWest_MacDaddy, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

Thankfully I just missed that. When I started at Schneider 21 years ago the manual said we did pallet exchange. I had one customer a couple months in who asked if I was going to take the pallets, I kicked the question upstairs and was told off the record we didn’t do that anymore.MidWest_MacDaddy, wulfman75, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

Now remember to set money aside for quarterly taxes. Find a good accountant that’s familiar with trucking. Worse case scenario you can use ATBS tax services until you find a good accountant.Knucklehead, Friend, cdavis188 and 4 others Thank this.
