Please, if this were happening to you, you'd be raising hell all the way to Tonn if you had to. It isn't hard to see a pattern. I need an experienced dispatcher, not someone just starting out. I am tired of being on the trainee's fleet. I saw a lot of that at Crete years ago and over the years, no matter what company I was with, what I am seeing fits the pattern and is no different than what I had with the last one. He may well end up being a good dispatcher, but I can't afford to wait until that happens. In fact, in the last 4 months, I haven't seen any of the positive changes you described prior to me coming back. To be bluntly honest, much of what I am seeing from Shaffer is worse than how it was the last time I was here. The only positive I have seen is this truck has managed to stay on the road for 4 months with very few issues (only a few glitches with the emissions system that cleared themselves after a few days)

New hires do make $100k. You'd have to be really lazy here to not make that. I don't even think it's possible to not make that. I'm at a small DC nobody in a sleeper truck is making under $100k here and we've got a bunch of new(er) hires. We've only got a few daycabs those guys make $90k but aren't being utilized like they could be be imo, they could be doing much better if they had good set runs.

You can use the phone when driving, hands free, no texting. If you're involved in an accident or incident they'll want to see phone records. Being on the phone when the accident happens doesn't necessarily mean you're fired. Being on the phone while in yard move or drive line on the yard/store or a few other instances does mean your fired. None of the phone rules are that difficult.

Micromanaging is for drivers that screw up. I don't ever hear anything from managers. I get paperwork for the load, day after day go run them and never hear a peep from anyone all week long.

Maybe at your DC. Where I live, there are 3. Macclenny, Alachua and Brooksville, so that would mean a lot of short hops because there really aren't that many stores outside of the major population centers and Macclenny and Brooksville are in closer proximity to them than Alachua.

How many times have I mentioned on here that when I’ve had the issues I’ve spoke up to management… i even told you gace to face about having to go to tonn to have issues addressed…so don’t even go there…
    IMG_0621.jpeg

Why do you think they said this??…nobody has ever said that to me when rejecting loads..there has to be more to the story and all than what you’re saying… we all have our bad days and bad weeks in this business. It’s just the nature of life in this business, but for them to sit there and flat, I’ll tell you that’s the best they’re going to offer you. There has to be a reason for them to tell you that…

Walmart drivers operate usually within a 600mi radius of their home dc.. they will operate loads out of other dc’s during the week..

That's too regional. I tried SE regional when I first started driving. Once I had a taste of OTR, I don't ever want to go back.

I have taken the matter up the ladder, and then they took it up farther. They say that I am not doing bad, so I gather that this company doesn't want drivers who can stay out longer, run harder, and do their job without holding management's hand. I guess guys like me upset the system and screws with the algorithms that tell planners what to plan.

I'd love to drive for Walmart. Only problem is I live on the fringe of the one DC that's even remotely close to me. I'd be putting a lot of miles on my car and a lot of gas in the tank just in traveling to/from the DC

Friend and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

But you also prefer regional, so if there was a Walmart closer, it would be a good fit for you. For me, I would be miserable.
