Worked for a guy who was the in house carrier for IKO shingles, out of Bedford Park, Illinois. Had probably a dozen tractors, and about 30 flatbeds.
Most of the shingles went to Menards, in 5 surrounding states. Some to lumber yards, etc. Depending on where you ended up. the backhaul was usually pallets of bagged cement, out of Logansport, Indiana. If you were in Michigan, lumber from Lansing. Most anything to get the truck back to Bedford Park.

Decent guy to work for, nice equipment, paid well, but Chicago 4 out of 5 days a week starts to wear on you.

Dropped the load at the Wally World DC yesterday, but, because it's a dry warehouse, Shaffer doesn't keep drop trailers here, so I bobtailed home. Exploring other options at this point so I have a game plan moving forward. After talking to my new AM for 5 or 10 minutes yesterday, I don't get the impression that he is fully up to speed with the job he has moved to, and I really don't have the patience to wait while he grows into the job. He may end up being a good AM, but I went thru this with SPD, and I really don't feel like going thru that again. I am honestly tired of being on the guinea pig driver's board.

This is how lazy wilmer shop is…

    IMG_0662.jpeg

They had this trl in on june 11, 3weeks before the current inspection is past due..instead of choosing to do the T1 on it while they had it is now over due for inspection…that shop in particular is the laziest one in the network by far…at least in my experience

@supersnackbar the only thing I might suggest is, to do the exact opposite of what you have done at your last three stops. They obviously haven't worked out, so it's worth a shot. And maybe quit outting yourself on this public forum.

Not something I've heard about I'll have to google it. I've never heard any sort of updates like that. We're kind of our own little world at my DC and I think they're all like that.

I’m guessing the closest dc to Pittsburgh is the st clairsville one. Only about 35-45 mins away. Not the worst not the best either.

I started driving in 1974. I've done a little of everything in that time, more over the road than home. We all get cought up in ourselves "I want to do this , I'd never do that" . And when something like what happened with your wife comes up it makes you realize what's really important and what's just trivial. I try to remember this every day and not let the little things get to me. Good for you for doing what you have done to care for your wife.
