It’s optional except for the reasons Runningman stated, that said the safety manager will ask very nicely if you would volunteer to have it turned on ( he doesn’t push if you decline) also as a company driver you get a 2 percentage point boost to your rating for volunteering to have it turned on which could make the difference for getting an annual raise if you’re on the edge.

Showed the driver the missing stud and how the others were getting ready to go. He stood and looked at it for a bit and walked away. I tried calling his safety department, but got no answer. Then I realized it’s a white Volvo from Illinois, so….

After I deliver this load in Houston this evening, I'm basically going around the corner to grab a preloaded trailer for Omaha
