    those Ford Focus have some pretty god awful transmissions though. So bad that a class action suit was filed and Ford had to fix a bunch of them

    You are correct. They never found a fix, and mine has the second gear shudder. It had it from day one, and it still has it. It won’t give up. You just drive through it. They keep going.

    I want to amend this, just to say even if it occasionally shudders in second, it’s still light years ahead of a D-12…

    My wife had a Ford Focus and it blew up with 106,000 on it. Engine just came apart. She always changed the oil and drove it easy, just the way it is…
    She has a Nissan Sentra now with 168,000 on it and it hasn’t had a single problem….

    Unless she has a manual Sentra I simply refuse to believe that that CVT has lasted for that long. Those Jatco CVT's are complete garbage with a capital G

    The engines are good. The CVT's are horrendous in every way, shape, and form
