First MWR load is to... *drum roll* ...Clayton, IN. Who would've ever saw that one coming? :D

Very seriously considering going up to take US-36 and I-72. It really isn't all that much longer (maybe 40 miles or so) and avoids all the bs happening on I-70

From ACT I never went up to 36 because the Clayton loads are light. I could run fast enough in the hills to get away from the heavier trucks. It’s a mileage contract so I never really went out of my way to avoid areas, you’re already getting shorted a little bit, no need to add more.

If it’s from the plant in KC going to Clayton it will be light every time. Most of the ones I pulled were upper 20’s to mid-30’s payload.

Smart move… US 36 is a lot less headaches than I 70 is across Missouri

    well too late now lol

I'm essentially in a company truck so it's pretty much a dog if you have 30k or better in the trailer

And I will gladly trade a bit more miles for lower blood pressure and stress levels, but that's just me

    Knucklehead Thanks this.

Ok, but you need to start thinking like you own the truck. Extra miles add up, they add to your cost, and they lower your revenue per mile.

On a short run like this to Clayton you probably dropped your revenue per mile by 15 to 20 cents because of the extra miles to go around.

My grandpa used to say if you watch the pennies the dollars will take care of themselves.
