not being able to send in your load call just because the BOL says something different than the company's computers and waking up to have a million messages about it has to be the biggest load of bs I've ever heard in my entire life

what is this? baby's first refrigerated load? I'm pretty annoyed at the situation and I don't even work for them

does the reefer try to automatically set to what the company says? if so, that's pretty asinine

hotrod1653, MACK E-6, Lonesome and 4 others Thank this.

It’s a set up to ensure that the temperature is correct so that there’s no Freight claims on the back end of the load… They just wanna make sure because the load I’m currently on the original temperature was 26° but the shipper changed it after I picked it up and put it on 20 which the bills also state..

You have to remember that some of the driver that Shaffer hired are seat warming steering holding graduates of the short bus academy. Many don't know how to think for themselves, so Ops has to hold their hand and walk them thru how to do their job on a daily basis. If you remember, our former employer (Magnum) could change your reefer setting on the fly without your knowledge, so if it wasn't set where they wanted, they could reset it, so they're not much different. And that one french fry customer in Jamestown wanted their fries kept at -10 continuous, but Magnum said -10 S/S, and if you didn't set it right, they would correct it. Plus, they had their reefers preprogrammed for specific customers or specific freight that would set itself automatically. They weren't much different than what Shaffer does.

My last load had a weird mismatch. Dispatch had load at like 25-30. The when load was finally ready got a new appt message with a new temp setting, like 35-40. Go pickup and bills say 28. Loaded call didnt go through. Got a response right away at least, but idk what the hell that was, they had it right the first time lol
