Welcome back @48Packard! One of the originals from this place. I’ve been on and off this forum for 25 years and it’s nice to hear from people who also remember way back when…..
Hate to say it but “fellow old timer” is the phrase I’m looking for.

Big wigs were out this summer. Got estimates to fix the lot. They’ve been trying to fill in what they can with cold patch to make it a little better but the guys coming thru at 30mph just blow the hole out again. We have to go thru one to go around back of the shop to unload fuel that’s getting pretty deep. When they were looking at the lot the maintenance guy pointed out that hole and the big wig said “nobody drives back here”.
They have holes so deep some of them have construction barrels in the hole. A lady drove into one a couple months ago and her landing gear go hung up and she had to be winched out.hope not dumb twucker, Friend, Rugerfan and 4 others Thank this. -
Good.. that lot has gotten really bad… It’s good to see that BP since the buyout have really been dumping money into either Remodeling/renovation or building new facilities like crazy… It’s about timeKnucklehead Thanks this.

Not too shabby today..now in Lincoln for the nighthope not dumb twucker, 48Packard, O.Henry and 1 other person Thank this. -
Got out of the shop by 17:30 last night, and so far my air pressure hasn't done the random dropping, so hopefully they corrected the issue the 1st try. Got a load this morning, pick up in Grand Island after 0230 tonight, drop part of the load in Alcoa, TN on Monday, and final out in Lenoir, NC on Tuesday. 1302 miles by noon on Tuesday. And the most surprising thing, I found an available empty on the Lincoln yard.
Went to fuel at my 1st fuel stop (Lincoln) before heading out and....my fuel card was still shut off even though I had been dispatched on my load. And of course, they decided to do the fuel island truck inspection on me (and everyone else) even though I just had the truck inspected (and the trailer isn't due for a couple months).
Leaving the Lincoln terminal today, ye ole' chariot decided to miss a gear. Pulled out on the road and started to swing to the left and it had to try 3 times to make the shift. And on my way to deliver the other day in Commerce City, it decided that throttling up to down shift wasn't necessary on one downshift...it just jamshifted into a lower gear. 188,300 miles on this thing and I am waiting to see transmission parts coming out from under it one of these days when it decides to self terminate. Junkliner at it's finest!!!!
Oh, and I haven't seen the fuel solution include any reefer fuel yet. Guess it isn't my fleets turn yet.Last edited: Oct 24, 2025 at 1:18 PM
motocross25 Thanks this. -
@supersnackbar talked with the guys at the fuel island this morning, and we started talking about the TPMS system. They have on these test trucks the 50 of them and they said they’re not gonna be going to those assistance play wide because it takes too long to change tires with them because they have to turn around and recalibrate the system, but they don’t have the program on hand and Freightliner won’t let them have it so it takes 2 to 3 hours to change a tire with that system on it so according to the shop, they’re not going with them

I didn't even know they were testing them to be honest. For less than $300 they sell an aftermarket tpms on Amazon that comes with 10 sensors that can be adjusted to tire pressures for a semi.
