I'm one of those drivers who pull straight into a spot and I can back just fine. Its absolutely because I don't want to listen to a reefer cycling all night. A lot of reefers aren't loud enough to bother me but too often I get one parked beside me with a busted muffler and cycling every 20 minutes. There can be 30 empty spots in a row and I'll pick the spot between two non reefers for the same reason. I started doing that after I had to move 3 times one night in a half full truck stop. Parked all by my lonesome at Truck World in Hubbard Ohio and 3 times got woke up with a reefer cycling beside my cab.

I just turn mine on when I'm hauling dry, I can't get to sleep unless it's running.

I try to park by other reefers. If I have a REALLY loud obnoxious unit I try to park near the RV's.

    We . . . sniff, sniff . . . wiggle wagons - we're just NOT WELCOME ANYMORE !!!!!

Boo hoo, sniff, sniff. The other kids won't let us play with them at the truck stops.

We have to keep driving and driving and driving, lonely and shunned by the other children.

Well, that - and the fact that every other M__________r that could have backed into a spot took the easiest pull through they could find . . . grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have parked next to a ringmaster they are very loud I agree, Being parked next to a reefer has never bothered me, in actuality it drowns out the rest of the surrounding noise when I go on break. I guess after so many years you just accept it.
