Everyone that become somebody in life took risks. You can be an o/o and make more money than a company guy, of course. Some guys trucked for retirement, others trucked to buy a house, and some to start their own business. Just because you can't be rich off trucking doesn't mean trucking can't be a stepping stone onto something greater in your life. If your ambitious and ignore everybody who says no you can't, then you will do as well as you've done with everything else you've done in your life. In fact we never even established what our definition of antisocial is in this context... Maybe instead of partying I like to go home and Read books and work on my property. Some people call that antisocial..
but I really think a few of you here just want to keep thumping your chests about how we will never learn, and misquote people on the internet.... shouldn't you polishing that 359 you are so proud of instead of wasting time of burnouts like me? Or do you enjoy it?

BTW, if you like to go home, it will affect your ability to be profitable. Figure it out. -
Eh. Wrong. If you're an OTR o/o by milage then I can believe that. Regional o/os do go home. Also coast to coast o/os -
I am company driver and Im usually out for 4-5 weeks at a time. I get paid lousy .38c/mile
I do want to get my own truck and become o/o, probably lease onto company I work for now as they have good accounts and plenty of loads.
I'm away from my home/family as a company driver, why not become o/o and be able to get a few more $$ in my pocket for hard work Im doing already. -
