I doubt I'll be there. I would love to go but I only manage to get to L'vill once a year no matter how hard I try.

I have a few opinions and observations on the "first in first out."

We all know people that call in empty when they are not....let alone if they are actually at the reciever.:biggrin_2556: This is probably why people dont like the tracking.....they will get busted lol.

We know that certain people will get a "heads up" just before choice loads are posted. Or they are given advanced notice of a juicy load in play and when the brokers plan on posting it. (This is the trucking versioin of insider trading lol) :3some:

Many loads are not Mercer loads. Rather they are "cut and pasted" off the DAT load board and other load boards. More often it is the DAT board. When this happens the rate will get watered down even more. However, many other trucking companies "horse trade" with each other on load boards. Its a very common practice. :argue:

Are there people gaming the system.......maybe. But some drivers delight in tormenting others with their BS. What a shame. My advice is to learn the frieght market more. Learn about lanes, rates, truck load capacity etc. Stay abreast of trucking trends....it is a business. In this fashion you will know where you should be running....and where not to. Dont turn into a giddy school kid when you see a load going to CA only to sit and pray for a load to get out of CA. That makes no sense to me.

You run your business......dont let your business run you:biggrin_255::biggrin_255::biggrin_255:

Make sure they put your ECM plug back properly. They use a Y connector to bridge the ECM to the ELD. The trucks ECM socket is usually left dangeling haphazardly in the dash. It will fall back inside the dash if Peterbilt, Freightliner etc trys to plug into it. I have been fighting with Keller about this. ALSO DO NOT LET THEM DRILL INTO YOUR DASH TO MOUNT THE ELD BOX. Use 3M heavy duty latch and hook to mount the box. Works great! You can pick it up at Lowes for $4.99

    Peace

Everything on the QC is a "option" basically. They pay extra money per option.

Navigation includes Rand McNally and "Jill" which the latter is garbage.

There's other "options" including Performance Monitoring which just gives you all your info from your ECM and what not.

Workflow which gives you your load information and "tasks" to signal you're done with certain parts of or the entire load.

One good thing or possible bad thing, depending on how YOU look at it, the QC does track everything you do. So if you're involved in an accident, it will tell on you if you were speeding or locking your brakes up or whatever else. It's basically the "Black box".

So I don't quite understand, are they going to QC or not? Is the install you speak of voluntary? Is it fleet wide or by choice?

They have been using QC for several months now. They sated with a few trucks who wanted to try it out. They aren't saying you have to install a QC, just one of the options they offer for ELD.

I like the Keller becuase you can take the log with you! I have mine on my LG tablet. No clunky extra hardware jutting out of my dash. During DOT checks no need to have the officer up in your cab. Just take your tablet in the scale house . Easy.

HOWEVER......would consider the QC if i could get the Direct TV option LOL.

under the new rules when they go into effect you won't be showing your ELD to the inspectors, they will download logs via bluetooth or usb, or have them emailed or downloaded from a server. They don't want to have to climb in the cab to read most ELDs or to be handling your phones and tablets.
