He just said he was throwing in the towel, he didn't say it was for financial reasons. I bet he's sitting back waiting for his thread to cook a little and will come in soon enough to explain

It's a trick ! A government ploy! An ATA fiend has hacked his account and meddled with it to discourage new entrants into the independent field, only to lure them with lies to the megas!!

Well DY, we've talked enough for me to know you're making a calculated decision that suits you.

I think we all hate to see a fellow leave - not sure that's a form of family, or 'misery loves company '.

I know you're not prepared to, nor should you have to for the sake of a business - but I always wanted to see you move out of California and specialize a bit with that van.

Or just take a week off, park the SOB well out of sight, enjoy some other pursuits for a while, then saddle up the horses again.

Best wishes, best of luck. Blair.

He's reading the posts because he's posting likes to them. It's like he staged his own death and now sitting back watching who comes to the funeral. Bastardo

Forgot to mention in prior post:

    4 new batteries (may 2016)
new (now 2 years old) 5th wheel
all new brakes (last june/80,000 miles)
    dura-lite charge air cooler

Tires are getting a bit worn -- they'll last the summer & fall, but I wouldn't do a northern winter on em.

The APU just took a #### today. I wish I could say it is an unusual occurrence, but I'd be lying -- rigmaster is a POS. Currently popping fuses at start-up and I have no desire to go to Gretna, NE and throw more money away on the #### thing. The price will come down accordingly.

It throws an occasional "warn engine" light for code 31 (aux power/jake brake). I'm 90% sure this is from the wiring on the aftermarket fan switch or the aftermarket jake brake. Everything works, even when the light is on, and it only stays on for 1/10th of a mile or so (once it comes on once during the day, it'll often keep coming on for short periods until I turn off the engine). Of course it doesn't do it at all whenever I'm within 100 miles of a shop...

The radio is a POS. If you listen to stuff on your phone or ipod, you have to spend considerable effort wiggling the auxiliary cord to get the speakers on the left side of the cabin to work. Additionally, the OEM cb antennae are gone. There is an aftermarket cb antenna for the cb, but the AM/FM reception was tied to the originals.

The seat (singular, there is only a driver's seat) is the most uncomfortable contraption I've ever had the misfortune to sit upon. I would recommend buying a new one ASAP.

On the plus side, I'm throwing in everything I no longer need:

    3 load locks
    25 ratcheting logistics straps
    1 large trailer broom
1 smaller detail trailer broom (great for crevices)
    4 super single chains
2 22.5lp chains for the trailer
1000w inverter (runs off batteries not apu)
3-4cubic foot refrigerator (runs off batteries)
    cobra 29 bluetooth CB
    Dash cam
2013 RM laminated motor carrier atlas
    hard hat & safety vest
A case of filters for the OPS
A new/unopened heater core -- I believe the old one has a small leak, but it only does it when I use the heater and I haven't been using it.
