I have yet to find an open scale. Not sure it even started on time.
Dominick253, G13Tomcat and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I've seen lots of bear here, but they are doing their usual bear stuff. And I haven't seen any on 17 when I went up & down it Monday, which is very unusual. Saw lots of them, doing what looked to me, to be DUI stops last night.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I am starting to think that these 'blitz' days are just a PR move to freak out the drivers who are afraid of the DOT. A lot of the past half dozen years or so it's been SOSDD as far as bear population in the scales. I see more group inspections at scales around the country on non-blitz days through out the year than I see on blitz days.
tscottme, Kyle G., austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -
They started early in ND, WI and MN were all open, and there were even portable scales set up on I-39 in IL yesterday.
Pretty funny to see all the grain haulers stopped short on the side of the highway in IL trying to figure out what to do. -
There may be a published end date, but in the Chicagoland area they play tricks. They started aver a month ago with a preseason workout and I have seen them spring up a week after, inviting trucks out back for meet and greet.
MikeeeeNewbeav Newbie and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
We had a truck get pulled on the side of the road in Beaumont yesterday. Nit picked it to death and said 2 brakes were out of adjustment and no OOS. Supposedly, it all ends on the 9th at midnight.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Here in Ohio, I've only seen increased OHP presence; and a few 4wheelers getting pulled over. If that's what they mean by a 'blitz,' that's fine by me!!!
As for DOT agents, none yet here. I drive nights, so maybe that's why I've not seen any.
Regardless, I'm checking the rig as I ALWAYS do. Tire pressure, wear, treads, brakes, hubs, etc etc etc etc.
Be safe, guys!jethro712 Thanks this. -
I ran from NWI to Michigan on I94. The wb Indiana scales were open, but the eb were closed. Michigan eb always open, wb closed. Coming back everybody closed, including always open eb Michigan.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
In cali they do the blitz all year. Just had a level one a week ago. I average an inspection every six months in here in cali.
RustyChops41 and Rocks Thank this.
