Are we talking about Thompson Twins song Lies? Loved the Cleopatra reference in the song. Another one referencing her is REM's Man on the Moon.

Plymouth Reliant K car lol, I was the battalion commander's driver for about a year, this is the car we used to shuttle the Col around in.

I saw a pristine early-80s k-car driving down I-24 in Chattanooga the other day. It even had antique auto tags. My wife and I were both shocked to see such a rare specimen.

I saw a "nice logo" and "shiny red truck" jack knifed in the median on the Beltway on my way to work Tuesday morning.

I witnessed a Dodge Aries start in -40F weather without being plugged in. I don't know why K Cars used to get such a bad rap.

There are still a few left on the road in my hometown, they were honestly some of the better cars one could buy in the 1980s. With a few exceptions not many of the cars from the 1980s were stylish, sporty or sexy. Most were so slow they could hardly get out of their own way.

Maybe Western Star is hoping people will feel the Nostalgia, The interior build quality on most modern trucks seems to be similar to the US cars from that Era.

Now if a Knight Truck collided with a England Truck, or if Knight and England merged...A thread named KNIGHTmare on C.R. England street might be a good read.

I used to have a 1989 Dodge Aries LE coupe, with the 2.2 liter 4 banger and 5-Spd manual(extremely rare combination-even back then as most K cars were four door sedan or wagon forms equipped with the 3-Spd automatic). Bought it off eBay for $400. That car was fun to drive,I could get about 400 miles on a tankful of gas ,averaging about 28 m.p.g.(pretty good for the late 80s). And of course, anyone who has dealt with Chrysler vehicles of that era knows that almost every car in their lineup ( even the minivans) was descended from that platform so spare parts never was an issue, even if something broke.

Where's Lee Iacocca when you need him?lol

More information here on the K-car then on a crappy trucking company.

With car and truck information abound, got any obscure motorcycle information to complete my web curiosity.

I'm currently working for cre. As with comments you've read before about how bad it is mostly true they don't take care of their drivers in any way. I'm in a dedicated fleet out of front royal va at there best payed account. Currently being payed 40c/m 2-3000 miles a week (solo) so that's not to bad. Our record of being accident free is 28 days (three years ago) on average we get 10-20 people a month replaced due to wrecks, log violations, dsp points and in general where a lot leave. that's just what I've personally seen myself. If ur on I-64 and see a red peterbilt that would be me

Cr england has some decent dedicated accounts. When I was training with them my trainer was making forty something cents a mile for both him and me. We were doing the jc penny accounts out of Spanish Fork Utah. Pretty much the same routes all week then a 34 hour reset on Friday.

After my first day of driving my trainer said Nice Job and spent the rest of the time in the sleeper when I was driving. He was making around two grand each week for a virtual team operation that month.
