yes. due to hos rule currently implemented. you could almost justify tjhinking the government creates problems so it can "solve" them by getting more involved.

The only true way in this world not to be tracked is to become Amish and drive a horse and buggy. We have been tracked and followed long before the evil ELD mandate was ever conceived. Go thru a scale today? Boom, you're tracked. Leave the battery in your cell phone when you aren't using it? Boom, tracked again. Drive in front of a big city police car...Tada...you were just tracked. Go thru a city with traffic cameras? Whoops, you were just tracked. What rights have you lost? You have the same rights now as you did before the mandate. In fact, you now have MORE. Along with the mandate legislation came the anti-coercion legislation. Before all this passed, how often did you hear about a company being forced to pay a driver who was fired because they refused to cheat the logbook? I see stories every month or two now about drivers getting major settlements for being fired for refusing to cheat. An ELD is the exact same ruler you have with paper to measure and record your HOS...it doesn't have a gun that pops out and forces you to do anything once a break is complete. I am an OOIDA member, and I have contemplated cancelling my membership because of their wasting of my money in this matter. The only reason I haven't is because they do more good for us in a lot of other ways.

I can remember when truck drivers had the ability and reputation to get the job done no matter what obstacles were thrown in their path...to take pride in accomplishing the task no matter what. This includes new regulations, new restrictions, more traffic, more construction. What ever the situation, a driver found a way to get the job done, and took pride in doing it. Now, all this b.s. about how 'unfair', 'unconstitutional', or how it's going to destroy our way of life is all you hear with every new speed bump. Suck it up buttercups!! Grow a pair and do the job, work the system, find a way to get the job done right...then you can thumb you nose at the ''evil mega''devils for "forcing you" into this latest obstruction, and you beat them at their own game.

Yes, eld vs paper. Eld being the root of all evil and paper is our savior. Am I on the right track?
