The reason I like the forehead cam is because it does show what i see including the mirrors. In the Prime video the dashcam footage alone would only show me coming up too close to the truck but not the whole picture the driver sees. My forehead cam showed that I could not move over to the passing lane as traffic was over there moving fast to anticipate the steep hill.

It is unfortunate that I got up so close to Prime in that vid, I honestly did not expect him to dog down so hard. Had I known he was going to slow to 20 miles per hour on an interstate highway I certainly would not have allowed myself to be trapped behind him; instead would have been in position in the passing lane already.

Now with the stepdeck driver, that guy needs some serious counselling. I didn't instigate or otherwise influence him to do the illegal thing I promise you. All I was doing was keeping a safe following distance. I think he was just too impatient like so many other drivers out there.

your safety director will say "you should always expect, the unexpected".

he is not going to defend you gaining speed on someone's butt. that in of itself, can be taken or viewed as "aggressive driving"....by your safety director, or even one of his flunky's.

again, it goes to what i had said earlier, you should have paid BETTER attention to your mirrors, and got out of that lane sooner, and passed the slower truck, then get back over.

you had not anticipated anything, but a stupid video of yourself, being a fool.???

honestly, i have never really seen anyone like you, reporting on others, yet you do the same. how you ever got your CDL is beyond my comprehension. why you have not crashed and maimed or killed someone, is beyond me. but in time, it all catches up to everyone.

be sure to have the cameras rolling in your soon to be big wreck. then have the nerve to tell us, "it wasn't my fault, yadda, yadda, yadda"...

He wasn't doing too bad going down the hill, I was tracking him at proper following distance at 55 miles per hour. What happened I think at the bottom of the hill he must have been in top gear and his truck lugged down real bad and he either missed the gear or downshifted to a gear that was still too high and lugged again. Either way he slowed down way faster than I could have anticipated. Of course had I known he was gonna slow down to 20 miles per hour I would have gotten over sooner.

Being a newbie here, and exploring getting a CDL, I have a few thoughts. Knowing some companies train the majority of CDL holders, if this was a trainee, and a member here, I would be even more nervous about climbing a hill if I were them. No one is perfect, so what if he/she missed a gear? Maybe they were learning and this was their first climb behind the wheel. From reading some of the comments some here never missed a gear, or were never new and needed to learn. Must be nice to be able to jump in the seat and know what you are doing from day 1 and drive perfectly every mile. I appreciate those who have passed on their wisdom, but some things you can tell someone a million times how to do it, but until you actually perform the task you don't learn anything.

It may have not even been a newbie, it could have been a mechanical deal, who knows. Everyone at some point in time has missed a gear, I occasionally still do. Just another reason why you keep your eyes peeled.

I can appreciate your comments and thoughts. I think we've been commenting on the Prime missed a gear thread here but this thread is about the princess passer who passed me against the solid yellow line illegally and the stepdeck driver who invaded my lane illegally.

But like I said, I have no idea whether the Prime driver was a rookie who missed a gear or maybe had a mechanical issue. @skellr had some relevant information about Prime's gearing and spec'ing of their trucks which does put what happened into perspective.

    what i bolded.

NO, the safety person would have had a field day on your butt had you crashed with that merging 4 wheeler. again, you assume and assume very poorly that others around you will drive properly. you are still the professional and must always drive in such a professional manner and expect the unexpected. you are making up one excuse after another, trying to get yourself out of this jam (or grave) you keep digging deeper and deeper.

i guess by the time you finish digging your career grave, you would be having dead Chinese people next to you, as we can clearly see, that career grave of yours, is near the land of China.

in all fairness to others who read your asinine comments and view your stupid videos, (even if for only a few short seconds) and to be completely honest, to me, you sir, are a hack of a driver.

    It's very nice indeed!

No one is perfect and I doubt anyone will claim to have driven perfectly every mile.

Many of us continue to learn everyday. Unfortunately, some seem to have stopped learning long ago.

I might go with it is unfortunate that you got stuck behind Prime. As for getting so close I would use a different word.
