One of the best ways to get contact info from anyone at the office is to ask for their card. Everything is on there.
Or, try to get a planner map. It's shows their area and contact info on there

    dhkwanderer Thanks this.

Anybody planning on heading i10 westbound over the atchafalaya bridge there is a major accident involving two semis, one tanker hazmat. I 10 closed and could be for awhile.

So I've been experimenting with the Goffs Rd bypass on 40 in California since I've been in the area over and over...

I think it's best used going west bound only.

West bound you'll be on a constant slight uphill until Goffs then downhill until the 40. You'll be able to maintain speed instead of pulling 25 or so up over the hills outside needles.

Eastbound last night I stayed on the 40. With 43k in the box. At the bypass exit I was at 9.5mpg. Top of the second climb I was at 9.2 and only had to drop to 11th gear across both. At the exit of the bypass at the other side I was at 9.5 again and when I based out in needles I was at 9.8 with no loss of time.

The bypass going west will add about 5 or so min of time to your trip but the GPS does not take into account you going 25 up hills. So I think it's a wash and you do save fuel and engine load.

Steel Tiger and scottied67 Thank this.

Oh and the 9.5 was from Tehachapi Love's to there. Tank mpg per scan gauge was 8.2 when you count the Bakersfield climb.

received another one of those load offers that looked too risky to accept given my hours. Not brave enough to hit Y then OTD N. My anxiety says just don't do it. Planner calls and has a short 380 mile overnight load up to northern Cali so I could do that. As I was down to 17 minutes left on my 14 the prepass goes red at the last little scalehouse and they rolled me through. Got within 3.5 miles of the customer when my time officially ran out. Creeped on in On Duty see local cop and grap my little notebook and turn on my light real quick acting like I'm lost looking for a customer as to the reason I'm creeping along. He didn't bother me, just kept going. Then the QC made this aweful noise and see that it logged me 5 minutes Driving in violation I guess I went past the threshold.

Customer got their load ontime and are very happy. 5 minutes violation or 5 hours late if I had to take a 10.

I just send a free form when I get preplans like that. "You sure, I'm not going to make this because..." And I get one of two responses "of
Oh crap yeah, never mind" *preplan cancelled* or "yeah we will swap you we just need it moving"

I've never refused one, I let them refuse it.

Yes on the first one, I did send a freeform message and got back no response. Time was ticking down and couldn't wait around anymore so repositioned to the truckstop.
