I have tmobile. Its not the greatest service. Some places like Montana you dont even have roaming service. Lte coverage is great in most metro areas.
rabbiporkchop, Friday and Kolorado Thank this. -
I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile a month ago.
The $100 month for unlimited everything and unlimited video streaming via hotspot or on phone got me.
Here's the tl:dr - going to switch to Verizon once the new iPhone is actually obtainable.
When it works, it's fantastic. The key is "when". I get no service or spotty service extremely often in any area that can be considered "middle of nowhere". One of the more obvious spots is 35 from WV to OH. There's about a 30 mile stretch that has no service at all.
Also, it definitely feels like they throttle the data. I've run speedtest in places with 2 bars of lte and got 30mb down 10 up results. And ran in a different area with full bars and got 1.5/0.3
Texas is great for service. Most cities and towns are decent. But if you are planning to stream music while driving.. get ready for some quiet reflection times in mountains.
Should add. I'm using iPhone 6s Plus. It's 4 months old. Not a hardware issue. -
Oh. Also, some areas, like 64 in the entire state of WV and a part of KY it uses AT&T for roaming. So, phone calls work, but data is limited to 4g and also limited to 200mb a month and then you get completely cut off from roaming data until next month. So, no more google maps there. It's pretty sad.
I know I'm making them sound bad, but that's because I'm pissed about it. I dropped a grandfathered AT&T unlimited data plan for this and it was absolutely not worth it.Weeezerd and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Verizon has better coverage, but I'm happy with my T-Mobile LTE. I have noticed a lot of random middle of nowhere places have gotten LTE coverage. I was at a rest stop probably 100 miles from the nearest metropolitain area, it was in mountains and I had LTE coverage..blew my mind.
No coverage at all in WV, anywhere.
It's worth it, I pay $100/month all in, and I use a tether app to bypass the hotspot cap. It isn't often I don't have at least 4g.Kolorado Thanks this. -
I have tmobile, unlimited data, I used about 40-60gb a month.
They do throttle, on certain time like afternoon if it get busy. Service is okay, I do get drop calls but I rarely talk on the phone, as for data, usually out east I'm fine but going west like Wyoming is a dead zone. Major cities have data and sometimes out of nowhere.
I also have a verzion jetpack that I use also, so I'm pretty much got internet anywhere -
There's coverage in WV on 81not a long stretch, but it's there!

I found it in the store. They also said if you have a Samsung TV that you can connect to it without a cable, it's called mirroring. https://www.boostmobile.com/shop/phones/samsung-galaxy-s3/
