It's official. I drop to .45 cpm....after sitting for 11.5 hours waiting for a door, then waiting some more because the yard guy, who was hooked to a trailer to pull out of the door I was assigned to so I could back in..he unhooked and left because his shift ended...then I find out that I am taking yet another pay cut........

    This is me right now

Judging by all the discrepancies and blank information, he must be manually calculating and entering in each piece of information. It doesn't seem like anything is automatically calculated by the computer. Putting all this information in the portal must be the most tedious and boring thing for him to do. I can't imagine entering all this in for the whole fleet.

Must give props to dispatch. My home time was put into computer wrong showing me home on the 28th not the 24th. He was going to have me deliver in NC then dead home to Georgia. He calls me back 10 minutes later saying drop your load on the Fargo yard( delivers at 0200 Monday)said he would figure something out. Grab a loaded off the yard going to Georgia delivering Tuesday night. They were willing to dead head me over 300 miles to get home on time.

The only way I would say working here is a good idea is

    a) you work for Swift/Werner/CRE or Stevens
b)someone has a gun to your head
c)your family is being held hostage and working here is one of the conditions for their release.

    That sliding pay scale sucks.

Got in the dock 12 hrs after my appointment. Empty within an hour...but this place is so small and poorly designed...the dock I was at didn't have room to turn right and leave, and the rest of the lot was so small a yard truck had trouble turning around...so I had to pull out left further into the lot, then back all the way out onto a semi busy 2 lane street with cars and trucks parked on the curb... got back to the Jessup T/A and there is still some free parking spots...or should I say non-reserved parking spots...everybody who takes a break here has to pay to get out.

    Honestly, it's a wonder I'm not a raging alcoholic...

I would have been gone last home time except I have $0 out of pocket insurance coverage on my wife until the end of the year...and I told her get EVERYTHING fixed that might need it...and some things that might not, but get it fixed anyway, just in case
