Please tell me about these several stop loads. My experience with reefer, to date, has been long waits for appts and followed by long waits in the doors at almost all consignees. Is it somehow different with these several stop loads?

Depends on who the receiver is. Generally 2 hours to unload. Some places on these multi stop loads I have been in and out in 30 minutes but generally about 2 hours even if a full load.

$30 a drop after the 1st one. Usually there is enough time to make your drop and get to the next one. Sometimes, like all things trucking, things go haywire on a drop and it screws up subsequent stops but you either make the drops late or they reschedule.
A good multi stop load for me will get all the stops off in one day or have a second day with time to get reloaded after your last stop.
IF things go haywire, detention, drop pay and possibly a lay over day helps the pay check... sure... we would all like the max mile loads with one quick stop and keep rolling... but sometimes the multistop loads pay just as good and puts you in a good place for reloading....
I've done a couple where I deliver to the perishable dock for stop 1, then move down to the frozen dock about 30 doors down the building for stop 2.... $30 drop pay and possible detention at each stop! Lol

3 stops in Boise Monday at 7 then 9.and 1100 then 4th stop Tuesday in Post Falls ID. 2000 mile trip. Where do we reload when empty out in Spokane area. Hope the weather holds out. If so will be laughing at my daughter. We live in Georgia they are expecting 6-12 inches of snow. Atlanta will be shut down for a week.

Reload after Spokane could be just about anywhere, but most likely central WA state. Moses Lake or Pasco maybe.

Nick offered me a load to Atlanta after i get unloaded on Friday in Grand Forks ND...going to Atlanta. I despise Atlanta. I told him I would do it but would prefer any other load besides that one. He said he had a NJ load and I jumped on it. LOL! I think I blew his mind...
I said you haven't heard that often huh Nick?
He said no, who gives up a load to Atlanta for NJ? No one!
I said I hate Atlanta and I grew up in NJ and actually like it there... He was happy to oblige!!

Now I see snow in Atlanta and none in NJ... love it when a plan comes together!!

    Corn89, Zata40 and Crusader66 Thank this.

It also depends on the shipper...a Jennie-O load might have a wide variety of products that need broke down where a Gaylord, or a french fry/'tater product load might only have a single product. I've had Jennie-O loads take 4-6 hours per stop, but some of the Jamestown or Grand Forks stops are in-n-out quickies.

Not just Atlanta but down to Macon and west all the way to Alexandria LA snow was predicted on yesterday's weekly planner forecast, so a backhaul out of that area would also pose a potential problem, although I think they might have changed it a bit since I looked at it last night.
