I have dumb question but here goes. Why does a Ohio DOT inspector need to dress like they are a member of Seal Team 6 fixing to raid Bin Laden's compound[/QUOTE]

    Tiny pecker???

    Lowlite and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

Plus, Ohio makes a ton of money writing tickets. That's why they kept the speed limit at 55 for so long when neighboring states were at 65 or 70. Ohio troopers would sit at the state line and have a good old time writing tickets to truckers doing 65 or 70 when they crossed the state line. That was a perfect speed trap.

I am with you, @radioshark, on the so called -blitz-. I saw nothing out of the ordinary again this year. But I bet they come out with some inspection statistics in a few months to make it sound like they were out in mass force.

If anything, it almost seemed like more weigh stations were closed than normal.

Well, the vast majority of the weigh stations I passed by in Montana, Idaho and Washington were open, however I was "PrePassed" at all except the Montana scale at the ND border. I guess that it helps that Magnum has a decent/ good safety record?

Because they are wannabes. Washed out of any hopes of being part of a REAL SOCOM team, mall cop doesn't pay too good, so join DOT and play "dress up" to soothe their low sense of self-worth.

Same reason the New Jersey State Troopers wear uniforms very similar to Nazi SS uniforms....
Makes you think twice before mouthing off.....

Only scale I saw open out of the ordinary was the Williston ND scale on US85. Open with 3 dot inspectors....

The 'barn' doors weren't even open in Wisconsin. Scales were but nothing different than a normal day. Same with Minnesota. Not an inspector in sight.

Ohio scale on 70e is closed. Cones blocking the roadway in. Don't know if they are renovating it or what....

Heading out with my trainer in the morning for my first day. Probably behind the wheel the next day though. Dropping fries off in Ohio...
