OOIDA Loses ELD Appeal to Supreme Court

The courts have more important things to hear. The argument against Eld's is ridiculous at best. Good job OOIDA. In 3 years you had the chance to help change HOS but instead fought how it was recorded. Failure after failure. Where do I sign up?

 

I could be wrong about this and maybe nothing will come of it, but I think the best odds are getting it repealed or changed is to implement it and see what the aftermath is. UPS is already asking for exemptions which tells me the rollout may not be as smooth as some insist it will be.

Seeing what a disaster the 34 hour rule change was is how we got it back to normal. Might be the same thing here. In the meantime, I'll bet the pre '00 crowd will be making more money sniping JIT freight the elog bunch can't run.

 

LoLoL... my boss might still do them, dunno. Real small fleet; my ride is a pre '99. I used 'em when I was OTR for FedEx and such, years ago. I'll retrain my brain.. but it's hard at my age! I love my paper.... and yes, I'm legal.

Well that just goes to show that we need to put it in neutral, lock the brakes, and take the keys out of the ignition. No one is going to do it though. This industry has some of the most DOCILE people I've ever met. We accept BS after BS after BS after BS after freaking BS all the time and we don't do a thing about it. We have no one to blame or point our fingers at but ourselves.

Its simple, Truck Driver's have left the politicians do as they please both Democrats and Republicans. Bi-Partisan or not we still got the short end of the stick. What makes me sick is that Truck Drivers hold your breath and let OOIDA try to take the fight for you guys. Granted it is a more civil way to do so, it didn't work on one of the most crucial fights for the sake of this industry. Then what gets me is how often I hear about the Autonomous Trucks, Collision systems, toll roads, higher road taxes, fuel price increasing, low pay rates, speed limiting devices the list goes on. But when OOIDA looses nobody does a thing but cry about it on either CB radio or on a trucker forum I.E: The Truckers Report. Yes they're were some fights that OOIDA has won but when it comes right down to it their are even more that they have lost as the years progress.

Also with that being said I know I hurt some feelings and pissed off drivers, but truth be told I had to open my mouth about it and I don't care. Electronic logs are in placed because frankly a lot of drivers violate the hos law that was originally placed many years ago before I was even thought of, and mind you I'm in my mid 20's and I've done my research on a lot things with this industry. Now they just made it to where now its all on computer and it is more improbable to run illegal. So really again you have no one to blame but yourself. Now the generation between the late 80's 90's and later have to deal with it, and the only solution to really blocking it is by as stating earlier. Put it in neutral, lock the brakes, and take the keys out of the ignition. Until then things are only going to get worse for this industry.
